About CounterStrikeGO
CounterStrikeGO is an independent English-language site about Counter-Strike 2 (CS2): news and transfers, guides, tournaments, teams and players, CS2 item prices and the history of the game.
What you will find here
- News about game updates, esports, skins and the community, with labels for transfers and rumors.
- Guides to settings, weapons, the console, competitive play and maps, each showing the date it was last checked. Our tables of CS2 weapon stats and weapon changes are read from the game's files, and our CS2 sensitivity calculator works out eDPI and the mouse distance for a full turn.
- Events, matches, teams and players: S-tier and A-tier tournaments with their upcoming matches and recent results, the teams in the top 30 of Valve's Regional Standings, teams that have dropped out of it, and their players, with data from Valve and PandaScore.
- Skins: prices from our daily snapshots of Skinport's public data, the week's biggest risers and fallers, the CounterStrikeGO Skin Index, the skin market on one page, the most expensive items and the cheapest knives, gloves and skins on Skinport, and a calendar of market events.
- Analysis: monthly reports on Valve's Regional Standings and weekly skin market reports.
- History: Counter-Strike from version 1.6 to CS2.
The story of counterstrikego.com
In 2011 and 2012, counterstrikego.com was a fan site about Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. On Aug. 12, 2011, the day Valve announced the game, a post there said Valve had sent the site the press release that morning. During the closed beta, which began Nov. 30, 2011, the site covered updates, beta keys and new maps.
Today's CounterStrikeGO is a new site at the same address. We do not reuse the old posts. Our history section covers that period in new articles based on Valve's posts and archived posts from the fan site, with links to the archives. Start with the announcement and the beta.
