Cookie notice
CounterStrikeGO uses cookies only for Google Analytics, and only if you allow it. It also saves your answer to the cookie banner in your browser and, if you use the theme switch, your theme.
Cookies and local storage
A cookie is a small text file that a website saves in your browser and that your browser sends back to the site with each request. Local storage is a similar feature: a space in your browser where a site can keep small settings. Unlike a cookie, it is not sent to the server with your requests.
What we save in your browser
| Name | Type | Purpose | When it is saved | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| csgo-consent | Local storage | Remembers whether you allowed or declined Google Analytics | When you click Allow or Decline in the cookie banner | 12 months, then the banner asks again |
| csgo-theme | Local storage | Remembers whether you chose the dark or light theme | Only when you click Dark or Light in the header | Until you clear it |
| _ga | Cookie, set by Google Analytics | Google says it is "used to distinguish users" | Only after you click Allow | 2 years |
| _ga_ followed by a code | Cookie, set by Google Analytics | Google says it is "used to persist session state" | Only after you click Allow | 2 years |
csgo-consent holds only your answer and the time you gave it. csgo-theme holds only the word "dark" or "light". Neither is sent to us or anyone else. Without csgo-theme, the site opens in the dark theme.
Google lists the _ga cookies on its page Google Analytics cookie usage on websites and says browsers may limit how long such cookies last. Our privacy policy explains what Google Analytics receives.
To remove any of these, clear this site's data in your browser settings. If your browser blocks local storage, the theme switch still changes the theme of the page you are on, and the cookie banner appears again on the next page.
Changing your choice
Use the Cookie settings link at the bottom of any page to open the banner again. If you click Decline after allowing Google Analytics, the site stops using it and deletes its cookies.
Features that save nothing in your browser
- Site search runs in your browser and sets no cookies.
- Skin filters store your choices in the page URL, not in your browser's storage.
- The 3D view in some weapon guides loads files from our own domain after you click it and saves nothing.
Cookies from Twitch and YouTube
Twitch streams, Twitch clips and YouTube videos load only when you click play. Until then, the page makes no request to Twitch or YouTube, so they cannot set cookies through our site.
After you click, the player loads from twitch.tv or youtube.com, and Twitch or YouTube can set its own cookies. These cookies are set by Twitch or YouTube, not by us, under that company's own rules: the Twitch Cookie Notice and How Google uses cookies, which covers YouTube.
Every YouTube video on our site also has a link that opens it on YouTube.
Cookies from our hosting provider
The site is hosted by Cloudflare. When we checked on Oct. 25, 2026, a first visit to counterstrikego.com set no cookies.
Cloudflare's protection against attacks that flood a site with traffic is always on. During such an attack, Cloudflare may ask your browser to pass a security check. Only then can it set these cookies:
| Name | Set by | Purpose | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
| cf_clearance | Cloudflare | Shows that your browser passed the security check, so you are not asked again | 30 minutes by default |
| cf_chl_rc_i, cf_chl_rc_ni, cf_chl_rc_m | Cloudflare | Set during a security check. Cloudflare says they are "for internal use," to spot technical problems in visitors' browsers | Not given on Cloudflare's cookie page |
Cloudflare describes all of these cookies as strictly necessary, meaning the service cannot work as requested without them, and lists them on its Cloudflare Cookies page.
Network Error Logging
Cloudflare also asks browsers to report failed connections to the site. Our privacy policy explains what these reports contain. Browsers that support this feature store the instruction for up to seven days. Clearing your browsing data removes it.
