Method
- Basket: 50 items in four groups: 15 knives and gloves, 20 Covert and Classified weapon skins, 10 stickers and sticker capsules, 5 cases. Chosen on Oct. 4, 2026 by seven-day sales on Skinport among items with at least 10 listings and a price on every day since the base date.
- Price: the median sale price over the last seven days on Skinport, as reported in our daily snapshot, in US dollars. Completed sales, not listings: listing prices follow what sellers ask and can sit far above what buyers pay.
- Weights: equal. Each item counts as its price relative to the base date; the index is the average of these ratios times 100. Group values are computed the same way within each group.
- Base date: September 27, 2026, the first day of our snapshots, equals 100.
- Missing days: if an item has no sales data on a day, its last known price is carried forward.
- Rebalancing: once a quarter. An item that stops trading or falls below 10 listings is replaced by the most traded item of its group; changes are announced on this page beforehand.
- Limits: one marketplace; a seven-day window, so a sudden move shows up over several days; daily rather than live data. Prices on other marketplaces and on the Steam Community Market differ.
