FURIA Esports player Marek “YEKINDAR” Galinskis said the team arrived in China for IEM Beijing 2026 to no organizer help at the airport, Cybersport.ru reported.
What YEKINDAR said
According to Cybersport.ru, YEKINDAR said the team landed at 11 p.m. and left the airport around midnight. He said no shuttle or any other transfer was waiting for them.
He said the drive to the hotel was an hour and a half, which would put check-in at about 2 a.m. Photos for media day were set for 8 a.m., he said, with a match at 3 p.m.
YEKINDAR also criticized the organizers for not moving the game later. He said his mood was otherwise good until the jet lag set in and that FURIA’s first game, against FaZe, was the next day.
A later correction
Cybersport.ru reported that YEKINDAR later walked back part of his account. He said he had exaggerated the length of the drive and that the ride to the hotel takes 15 minutes.
The outlet also reported that FURIA won PGL Masters Bucharest 2026 on Oct. 31, beating Nemiga Gaming 3-2 in the final.
Why it matters
YEKINDAR said organizers arranged no airport transfer and did not move FURIA's match later. He later said the hotel drive takes 15 minutes, not an hour and a half.
