Sashi Esport has signed New Zealand player chelleos for its Counter-Strike 2 roster, Cybersport.ru reported on Oct. 8. The outlet said the news came from the club’s social media.

He replaces Danish player acoR. According to Cybersport.ru, he is the third Asia-region player in a row that Sashi Esport has signed.

How the roster got here

Cybersport.ru said the team earlier added two Australians, TjP and Hatz. Vietnamese player Anlelele also plays for the team. He previously competed under the Danish flag, but he returned to his original sporting citizenship and now represents Asia, the outlet wrote.

Cybersport.ru reported that, with Anlelele’s change of citizenship, the team had planned to move into the Asian region to improve its chances of qualifying for PGL Major Singapore 2026.

Valve’s rule change

On Oct. 6, Valve changed the regulations. Valve’s new rule says a roster is only eligible for a Regional Assignment if it did not appear in any other region’s VRS list in the preceding three calendar months.

The outlet added that BC.Game earlier switched regions by signing Asian players, and that Valve’s new requirements do not affect that team.

Why it matters

Sashi Esport's push to count as an Asian team for the Singapore Major now runs into Valve's new three-month rule, which affects how quickly a roster can change regions.
