British journalist and CS2 tournament host Richard Lewis criticized Team Falcons player Maxim “kyousuke” Lukin, Cybersport.ru reported on Nov. 5. Lewis said on the Snake & Banter podcast that Lukin is the team’s main problem.
What Lewis said about kyousuke
Lewis said Falcons have an obvious psychological barrier. In his view, one person has always been the obstacle for the team, and he named kyousuke as the weak link. He said the community had praised the player too much.
Lewis recalled that in kyousuke’s academy days, people spoke of him almost as they did of donk. Falcons did not sign him for a perfect fit, Lewis said. In his view the player fit the roster poorly, which is why the team had to move NiKo and change all the in-game roles.
Decisions and karrigan
Lewis said decision-making is very important and that kyousuke constantly makes terrible decisions that cost Falcons rounds. He said karrigan is not someone who would take the player aside and point out his mistakes harshly. Lewis said karrigan would act gently and carefully, without pressure.
Lewis did not think that approach suits kyousuke. He said he fears the player needs a good shake-up.
Form and earlier criticism
Lewis described kyousuke as a rather careless player whose form is unstable from tournament to tournament. He said that in tense matches Falcons lose, kyousuke ends up at the bottom of the table.
Cybersport.ru added that analyst Alex “Mauisnake” Ellenburg had also commented on Lukin’s play earlier.
