donk says Spirit's Ancient slump is natural, Cybersport.ru reports

Team Spirit’s donk (Danil Kryshkovets) said it is natural for a team that dominates one map to hit a slump on it, Cybersport.ru reported on Nov. 3. He was explaining why Spirit have lost on Ancient in recent matches after a long unbeaten run there.

According to the outlet, donk shared his view in a vlog published on the team’s channel.

What donk said

When a team repeats the same actions over a stretch of matches, in Spirit’s case about 15, it ends up in an uncomfortable position, donk said. The team starts to think its opponents know everything about it, he said.

He added that a team changes things because it understands the enemy can see what it does, but some details stay the same. Players then start to worry about those details in the moment. This can dent confidence and comfort on the map, donk said.

The Ancient streak

Spirit did not lose on Ancient from April to September, Cybersport.ru wrote, and the winning streak on the map reached 15 matches. It ended at ESL Pro League Season 24. At PGL Masters Bucharest 2026 the team then lost on Ancient two more times.
