Aurora coach ashhh: expectations grew too fast, Cybersport.ru reports

Aurora Gaming coach ashhh said that expectations inside the team grew too fast, which gave them more reasons to be disappointed. Cybersport.ru reported his comments, which he made to HLTV.org after Aurora beat G2 Esports at IEM Beijing 2026.

The win over G2

Asked how he felt after a tense match, ashhh said he felt great and that it is nice to beat strong teams. In his view, G2 remain a worthy opponent even if their results are not at their best right now, and the win means a lot.

He added that he is glad Aurora are managing to handle such close games and come out with wins.

Cybersport.ru reported that Aurora won 2-1 in the lower bracket of Group B: 13-9 on Nuke, 9-13 on Inferno and 16-13 on Dust II. According to the outlet, it was the team’s first win at the event.

Team mood and form

HLTV.org asked about the mood in the team after a poor start and a stretch when Aurora seemed to be heading in the right direction. The coach said there was a certain disappointment. MOUZ beat them fairly confidently, which he linked in part to how Aurora played at the previous tournament, adding that in a way it could be expected.

He said other teams also have busy schedules, but a side like FURIA have played together for a long time and have well-developed fundamentals. Their players know what they need to do. Aurora, he said, are still learning as they go and barely practice.

Before the Major

Over the last few days, he said, the team seemed to forget what they had done well. They recently played badly even on Anubis, a map that had never caused them such problems. He said Aurora need to judge their abilities a little more realistically and accept that they are not at peak form.

PGL Major Singapore 2026 is not far off, he said, and the team will have time to practice before it.
