Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen, captain of Natus Vincere’s Counter-Strike 2 roster, was sentenced to four months of suspended imprisonment for aggravated tax fraud, Cybersport.ru reported on Oct. 27. The Russian-language outlet cited the Finnish newspaper Helsingin Sanomat.

What the court examined

The case concerned income from Valve that Virolainen left off his 2019 tax return: more than €53,000, according to Helsingin Sanomat as relayed by Cybersport.ru. Because it went undeclared, his income tax came out about €28,000 lower than it should have been.

Virolainen admitted he had not declared the income but denied deliberately avoiding tax. He said he believed the necessary taxes had already been paid. The court did not find that explanation convincing. He has since paid off the tax debt.

Inven Global reported that the ruling is not final and that Virolainen can appeal until Nov. 26. The probation period runs until Oct. 26, 2028, according to the outlet.

How the case developed

In March 2026 the charge became public, according to Cybersport.ru. The case was registered with the East Uusimaa court, with the Finnish Tax Administration as the injured party. It related to income he received while playing for OG.

At the time, Virolainen declined to comment on the charges.

Why it matters

According to Cybersport.ru, Aleksib was given a four-month suspended prison sentence for aggravated tax fraud over undeclared 2019 income. He has already paid the tax debt.
