CS2 glossary: ADR, Trust Factor, Wingman, Prime, Care Package and Pick'Em
Plain definitions of six Counter-Strike 2 terms: ADR, Trust Factor, Wingman, Prime, Care Package and Pick'Em.

This glossary covers six terms Counter-Strike 2 players run into on the scoreboard, in matchmaking, in the store and during Majors. Game text quoted here is as of Oct. 15, 2026.
ADR
ADR appears on the scoreboard, and its tooltip in the game reads “Average Damage per Round.”
A player stat line in the game reads “Average damage per round” followed by a value, and “Total damage” followed by a total.
Trust Factor
Steam Support wrote that Trust Factor is determined by looking at a user’s past experience in Counter-Strike 2 and on Steam. Steam Support published its CS2 explanation on Nov. 1, 2023. Valve described the system in a CS:GO blog post, where it wrote that “Trust is always on.”
How it is used
According to Valve’s CS:GO blog post, players entered matchmaking using their Trust Factor by default instead of their Prime status. Players with Prime status could still restrict their matchmaking pool to other players with Prime status.
Steam Support wrote that Trust Factor matchmaking will try to match similar players. The range of players on a server varies with the time of day, the player’s region and the maps they are queuing for.
When players are in a party, Steam Support wrote, the lowest Trust Factor of any individual in the party is used for matchmaking.
What counts toward it
Steam Support wrote that it is not providing the list of factors. It added that Trust Factor matchmaking will get continuous updates and any list of factors would become outdated very quickly.
In the CS:GO blog post, Valve described an experiment that used behaviors and attributes of the Steam account. Examples it gave were:
- the overall amount of time spent playing CS:GO
- how frequently a player was reported for cheating
- time spent playing other games on the Steam account
Steam Support wrote that phone numbers and Counter-Strike 2 Rank are among the factors in the CS2 system.
How to improve it
Steam Support wrote that the only way to improve Trust Factor is to be a positive member of the Counter-Strike 2 and Steam community. To improve their matchmaking experience, players only have to keep playing Counter-Strike 2 and other Steam games legitimately. The more a user plays, the more information the system has.
Warnings before a Competitive match
Before a Competitive match, players with Prime status are told if a lobby member who is also opted into Prime will affect their matchmaking experience because of their Trust Factor. Steam Support listed two messages:
- Your matchmaking experience may be slightly impacted because Trust Factor of (player) is lower than yours.
- Your matchmaking experience will be significantly affected because Trust Factor of (player) is substantially lower than yours.
This message only shows to players who have Prime status.
New players and acquired accounts
Steam Support wrote that new players will not necessarily have a low Trust Factor. Trust Factor is affected by experiences on Steam and in Counter-Strike 2, so a player who has been a positive member of the Steam Community will likely enter the game with a high Trust Factor.
Valve wrote in the CS:GO blog post that someone who acquires a premade Steam account also acquires that account’s Trust Factor. It added that acquired accounts commonly have a very low Trust Factor and wrote: “Don’t acquire accounts from other users.”
Prime
Steam Support’s page on Prime Status and free-to-play, published March 3, 2026, says Prime Status can be purchased in-game or through the Steam Store. There is currently no way to remove it from an account.
What Prime includes
Users with Prime status are matchmade with and against only other Prime users in all game modes. The table shows what Steam Support ties to Prime.
| Feature | Without Prime | With Prime |
|---|---|---|
| XP and Service Medal | No XP from any game mode on any server | Earns XP |
| Competitive Skill Group and Counter-Strike Rating | Not issued | Issued |
| Weekly care packages | Not received | Eligible |
| Premier mode | Not available | Available with Profile Level 10 |
Free Counter-Strike 2 players get access to all game modes and matchmaking types except Premier mode. To use Premier, a player must own Prime Status and be Profile Level 10.
Prime and non-Prime together
Prime and non-Prime users can matchmake together only from a pre-made lobby. In that case the lobby is considered non-Prime, and the match is with and against non-Prime users. A non-Prime user cannot play in a Prime-only match.
Prime Matchmaking in CS:GO
Valve wrote in a CS:GO blog post that Prime Matchmaking initially matched players who linked CS:GO with a unique phone number. Later the system also required in-game experience: players needed to reach rank 21.
Wingman
Wingman is a game mode. Valve’s July 17, 2023, release notes list “Added Wingman game mode” and Overpass among the maps added to Wingman. The Sept. 27, 2023, release notes for Counter-Strike 2 list “Enabled Wingman matchmaking.”
On Jan. 21, 2026, Valve added the community maps Sanctum and Poseidon to Wingman mode.
Wingman Skill Group
The game’s tooltip says: “In Wingman, Skill Group is used to find matches appropriate for your skill.” The game prompts players to win matches to establish their Wingman Skill Group.
When a Wingman Skill Group expires, the game says it “has expired due to inactivity, win 1 match to display it again.”
Care Package
The Weekly Care Package replaced weekly drops in the Sept. 27, 2023, release notes. Valve wrote that players choose from weapon cases, weapon finishes and graffiti.
How you get one
The game text says: “Get a Weekly Care Package the next time you rank up!” Steam Support wrote that players need Prime status to receive weekly care packages.
Redeeming rewards
The game’s store pop-up says that unredeemed rewards can be redeemed later in the store. It also warns: “If you don’t redeem your rewards before you earn new ones, they are gone forever.” The game says a new Care Package comes when you earn your next XP Rank.
When claiming, the game warns: “Untradable, consumes both of your rewards.”
Drop list changes
In the Jan. 21, 2026, update, Valve made these changes to the Weekly Care Package drop list:
- Added two weapon collectionsHarlequin and Achroma.
- Removed four weapon collectionsSafehouse, Dust 2, 2018 Nuke Collection and the 2018 Inferno Collection.
Pick’Em
Valve has offered the Pick’Em Challenge at Majors, including the Shanghai 2024 Major and the IEM Cologne 2026 Major.
Shanghai 2024
In the Nov. 27, 2024, update, Valve wrote that all players with Prime status can place Pick’Em picks for free. To complete challenges and earn rewards from an event stage, players have to activate a Viewer Pass before that stage begins.
A Shanghai 2024 Viewer Pass gave an upgradable coin and the chance to earn extra souvenir packages through the Pick’Em Challenge. It also put the player on the Active Pass Leaderboard, where Pick’Em performance can be compared with friends’.
Cologne 2026
For the IEM Cologne 2026 Major, Valve wrote on May 21, 2026, that players who purchase and activate a Cologne 2026 Viewer Pass receive a 2026 Cologne Major Challenge Coin. Playing the Pick’Em Challenge upgrades the coin from Bronze to Silver, Gold or Diamond. Each upgrade gives 300 tokens, which can be redeemed for stickers or souvenirs.
Before the Playoffs, Valve wrote that all Playoff picks had to be submitted before the first Playoff match began.
