The Desert Eagle is a pistol in Counter-Strike 2 that both teams can use. Below are its numbers from Valve’s game files and how recent updates changed the way its ammo works.

Everything below is current as of the game files from Sept. 23 and Sept. 30, 2026, and the Sept. 22, 2026 update notes.

Price, kill award and teams

The game files set the price at $700 and the kill award at $300. Both Terrorists and Counter-Terrorists can buy it.

Damage and headshots

The base damage is 53 and the headshot multiplier is 3.9. Each shot fires one bullet.

The armor ratio is 1.864, penetration 2.0, range 4096.0 and the range modifier 0.85.

Ammo, reloading and the reserve

The Desert Eagle holds seven rounds per magazine, and its reserve is three magazines. That fits Valve’s description of reserves in the March 18, 2026 update, where reserve ammo is shown as a number of magazines, shells or bullets depending on the weapon.

How reloading works since March 18, 2026

Valve redesigned reloading in the March 18, 2026 update. In the announcement, Valve wrote that the old behavior meant “the decision to reload has never offered significant trade-offs.”

The new rule, from the patch notes: when you reload a magazine-fed weapon, all remaining ammo in the magazine is discarded and a new, full magazine is taken from the reserves. In the announcement Valve wrote that most weapons got a three-clip fill-up, with fewer for some weapons and more for others. The Desert Eagle’s reserve of three magazines matches that standard.

Two other changes from the same patch notes apply here:

  • The fill level of the current weapon is displayed below the ammo count.
  • Reserve counts were tuned per weapon.

With a seven-round magazine, reloading early throws away the rounds still in it.

Silent reload

The Sept. 22, 2026 update added a quieter option. Valve wrote that players can now reload silently, but slowly, by pressing and holding the reload key.

Attacking is blocked for a set time after a reload starts; the game files set this value at 2.2.

Accuracy values in the game files

Accuracy is set as inaccuracy values for different situations; several have two entries.

Situation Value(s)
Spread 0.002, 0.002
Inaccuracy, standing 0.0042, 0.0042
Inaccuracy, crouching 0.00218, 0.00218
Inaccuracy, moving 0.0481, 0.0481
Inaccuracy, per shot fired 0.07223, 0.07223
Inaccuracy, jumping 0.04055, 0.37155
Inaccuracy, landing 0.000043, 0.00073
Inaccuracy, on a ladder 0.152, 0.152
Jump inaccuracy, initial 0.54882
Jump inaccuracy, at apex 0.33155
Reload inaccuracy 0.0

The crouching value (0.00218) is smaller than the standing value (0.0042), and both are far smaller than the moving value (0.0481).

Recovery time

Recovery times for crouching and standing:

  • Crouching: 0.449927
  • Standing: 0.8112
  • The final recovery values for both are identical to these.
  • The recovery transition runs from the third bullet to the 10th.

With a magazine of seven, the transition end value of 10 is larger than the magazine itself.

Crosshair and accuracy

The Sept. 22, 2026 update changed the default crosshair to “Dynamic Quad,” which Valve wrote “better represents weapon accuracy.” Crosshairs are now resolution independent, and the Settings menu has a new “Crosshair/Scopes” tab with updated crosshair settings. The same update added new crosshair styles.

Recoil

Recoil values for the Desert Eagle:

Value Number(s)
Recoil angle 0.0
Recoil angle variance 60.0, 60.0
Recoil magnitude 48.200001, 48.200001
Recoil magnitude variance 18.0, 18.0

The April 21, 2026 update adjusted how recoil looks on screen. Valve wrote that camera motion due to recoil now matches CS:GO more closely, while bullet trajectories should continue to match CS2. The notes add that players now experience the full camera motion from external sources of aim punch, such as getting shot, regardless of network latency.

Handling and movement

Other handling values:

  • Max speed230.0 for both entries.
  • Deploy duration1.0.
  • Flinch velocity modifiers0.4 (large) and 0.55 (small).
  • Zoomnone.
  • Silencernone.
  • Revolverno.

The weapon can be flipped to the other hand, and the model is built right-handed.

Fixes and animations

In the Nov. 16, 2023 release notes, Valve wrote that it fixed a case where the Deagle slide would fail to reset on round restart. The April 21, 2026 update also made minor adjustments to viewmodel animations in general.
